**READ UPDATE ON HALFWAY HOUSE SERIES RELEASE HERE**

2013-blog

2012 was a year for many firsts (for me). But mainly, it was the year I published my very first book – something I thought I’d never do. (Thanks to everyone who motivated me to finally do it)

I couldn’t believe it when the words “the end” were finally typed and even more surprised when it was accepted so quickly.

But nothing compared to the happiness I felt when I found out readers actually enjoyed and recommended the book. I won’t lie, I read reviews and had this insane goofy grin on my face (still do). My face hurt for days as I read comments like:

“These men touched my heart.”

“This book….got everything right.”

and the one that still gives me a chuckle…

“This book rocks cotton socks :)”

Thanks Goodreads readers. You guys are all kinds of awesome.

And from review sites…

“I cannot recommend this book highly enough and would give it six stars if I could.” (thanks, Don)

“After reading A Better Man, I am encouraged that there is truly good in the world and that everyone deserves a second chance; at life and love.” (Thank you, Evelise!)

…and this paragraph from Joyfully Jay Reviews still gets me every time.

“Sometimes a novel comes along that resonates far beyond the written page.  It speaks to the places in ourselves where we find fear, defeat, and the simple yet complex desire to be someone others are proud of—to reach beyond our sometimes petty and small existence and make a difference. When that novel also includes a tender and life affirming love story…well, then you really have hit the jackpot and found a real prize.

Welcome to A Better Man…”

I can’t thank everyone enough for taking the time to read and review A Better Man. Sure, not all reviews were glowing, but when classic literature also receives less than positive reviews, that’s just proof that you can’t please everyone. I’m incredibly blessed readers chose to pick up A Better Man when there are so many reading options out there. All I can do is write what I feel and just hope readers like it. So far so good 🙂

As far as 2013, well, I’m currently working on the sequel to A Better Man. Currently titled A Hunted Man, it will feature Cameron’s story. He was first introduced in book one and he finally arrives to the halfway house as their first guest. I’m hoping to have it completed in the beginning of 2013. It’s taken longer than expected because of the changes along the way. And yes – just in case you’re wondering, Julian and Matt make appearances and so does Sam.

So, in a nutshell, just in case you’re reading this because you want to find out about Cameron’s story, yes, it should be ready beginning of 2013, it will be a solo project, and it will be novel length. It’s going to have romance, a little bit of mystery/suspense, some angst, and a lotta love.

Happy New Year, everyone. Here’s hoping for a wonderful 2013. Bring it on!
